Decide what the hours represent
- Include breaks in day hours only when the schedule you are modelling treats them as included.

- For rotating or irregular shifts, average a representative cycle before entering a repeating week.
Test the assumptions that can move the total
Ask first whether weeks worked changes across the choices, then test daily hours and days per week. A common error is to enter a typical busy week and multiply it across a year that contains quieter or non-working weeks.
