Confirm eligibility, jurisdiction, date and service allocation first
The calculator supports a confirmed eligible Great Britain redundancy dated from 6 April 2026 through 5 April 2027. It fails closed for Northern Ireland, an unconfirmed eligibility decision or a date outside that reviewed rate period.
Completed years must be assigned to the age the worker was during each service year, using only the latest twenty completed years. Wage101 does not infer this history from current age or length of service.
Each completed service year receives its age-band weight
The three age-band year counts must be non-negative whole numbers and sum to no more than twenty. Fewer than two completed years does not enter this statutory calculator example; eligibility and official exceptions still require separate confirmation.
| Age during completed service year | Entitlement weight |
|---|---|
| Under 22 | 0.5 week |
| 22 through 40 | 1 week |
| 41 or older | 1.5 weeks |
The latest-twenty-years, weekly-pay and award caps are separate
| Limit | calculator value | How it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Completed service | 20 years | Allocate only the latest twenty completed years by age band. |
| Weekly pay | ยฃ751 | Use the lesser of entered average weekly pay and the statutory cap. |
| Statutory award | ยฃ22,530 | Limit the age-weighted weeks multiplied by capped weekly pay. |
The 2/10/3-year fixture produces ยฃ11,640.50
| Step | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Completed service | 2 + 10 + 3 | 15 years |
| Under-22 entitlement | 2 ร 0.5 | 1 week |
| Age-22-to-40 entitlement | 10 ร 1 | 10 weeks |
| Age-41-plus entitlement | 3 ร 1.5 | 4.5 weeks |
| Total entitlement | 1 + 10 + 4.5 | 15.5 weeks |
| Capped weekly pay | Lesser of ยฃ800 and ยฃ751 | ยฃ751 |
| Statutory pay | 15.5 ร ยฃ751 | ยฃ11,640.50 |
The statutory award is not the whole termination outcome
The output excludes statutory or contractual notice pay, holiday pay, contractual enhancements, tax and National Insurance treatment, benefits, settlements and every other termination payment. It also does not decide whether an official eligibility exception applies.
Do not use the Great Britain result for Northern Ireland or carry the ยฃ751 and ยฃ22,530 caps beyond 5 April 2027. If service exceeds twenty years, allocate the latest twenty years outside the tool before entering the three band totals.
